Mike is the founder and Co-Director of Lanier Counseling
Services with his wife, Lisa. He has worked in both the public sector and
privately at Lanier Counseling Services. Among the many public sector
positions he has performed in the past - he taught counseling courses at the
University of Georgia Graduate School; lectured and consulted on the state
and national levels regarding sexual abuse and trauma; received the Georgia
Professional Accolade Award for his work; directed an inpatient treatment
facility; designed and directed an innovative outpatient forensics program;
responded to numerous man-made and natural disasters; designed and directed
the crisis counseling response team and protocols for the Olympic rowing
venue as part of the State Olympic Law Enforcement Committee; was one of
only five counselors chosen to respond on behalf of security personnel to
the Centennial Olympic Park bombing; and worked statewide in Emergency Preparedness
and Response to prepare the state for terrorist or natural events.
Mike is very goal oriented and strives to provide relief
to clients as quickly as possible. He knows firsthand the pain of divorce
and the happiness of a comeback. He is solution-focused and very much
enjoys assisting and celebrating individuals and couples in making positive
changes. Lanier Counseling Services specializes in solutions to everyday
problems. We are located at 359-A Peevy St. in Buford, Georgia (just behind
