GUIDING YOU BACK TO BALANCE

Hi, Courtney here.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University. I offer holistic, trauma-informed therapy for individuals, integrating EMDR and Somatic Experiencing (SE) to support healing and regulation.

My work is grounded in the understanding that trauma affects more than thoughts and memories, it also lives in the nervous system. I am deeply interested in the mind-body connection and the body’s innate wisdom to heal and restore when met with genuine support and care. I specialize in supporting individuals healing from childhood sexual abuse, as well as the broader effects of abuse and trauma, including complex trauma, C-PTSD and PTSD, and sexual, psychological, or emotional abuse. I also work with adolescents and adults managing anxiety, panic attacks, depression, or anyone seeking extra support in navigating life’s challenges.

My approach is warm and compassionate, guided by a pace that feels right for you. I believe healing happens through connection, and I’m here to walk alongside you, helping you feel more grounded and hopeful for what’s ahead.

UNDERSTANDING THE SIGNS

When Life Feels Harder Than Usual

You might find yourself feeling anxious or on edge, experiencing panic that seems to come out of nowhere, or struggling to feel settled in your body. Maybe your nervous system feels constantly activated, or you notice cycles of worry, overwhelm, or shutdown that are hard to break.

You may also be noticing difficulties in relationships — feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or unsure how to stay close to others without losing yourself. Patterns from the past may be showing up in ways that feel confusing or exhausting, leaving you longing for more ease, safety, or clarity in how you relate.

Or perhaps you feel disconnected from yourself, from your emotions, your body, or the parts of you that once felt steady or alive. You may be going through the motions while feeling distant, numb, or unsure how to reconnect. Therapy can be a place to gently explore these experiences, rebuild connection, and begin to feel more grounded and supported again.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based form of therapy that helps the brain reprocess emotionally charged memories. These experiences can leave us feeling stuck or anxious and can interfere with how we want to show up in everyday life. EMDR helps people relate to these experiences in a way that allows them to feel more present and connected.

Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing® (SE) is a body-based, trauma-informed approach that can help with trauma, stress, anxiety, and other experiences that leave the nervous system unsettled. This gentle process supports the body’s natural ability to regulate itself, helping you build resilience, better understand your emotional and physical responses, and develop a greater sense of balance over time.

How I Can Help

Virtual Therapy

Life can get busy, and sometimes getting to an office just isn’t easy. That’s why I offer virtual counseling, so you can access support from the comfort of your own home. Depending on your availability, virtual sessions can also be part of a flexible hybrid approach, combining online and in-person meetings in a way that works best for you.

TAKE THE FIRST STEP

How It Works

  • 15-Minute Consultation

A complimentary 15-minute consultation offers a space to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and explore whether working together feels like the right fit. We’ll talk through your goals, therapy options, and possible next steps—without pressure or obligation.

  • Initial Intake Session

The intake session is your first therapy appointment. During this session, we’ll explore your history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. You’ll have space to share at your own pace while we begin creating a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

  • 50-Minute Individual Session

Individual therapy offers a steady, supportive space to slow down and reconnect with yourself. Sessions are guided by your pace, your needs, and your goals—honoring both where you are and where you want to go.

  • Getting started is simple. You can fill out the contact form on the website or email me at courtney@laniercounseling.com with any additional questions or to set up a brief initial consultation.

  • I work with individuals ages 10 and up, including teens and adults. I support people navigating a wide range of concerns, including trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and the challenges of daily life.

  • My standard session fee is $175 per 50-minute session. I accept all major credit cards, and a card is kept on file and charged at the time of your session.

  • I am currently out of network with most insurance plans. If your insurance covers out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill, a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, available upon request.

  • I understand that life happens. I kindly request 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling, so I can adjust my schedule and offer the time to others who may need it. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full session fee.
